Some sketches last night

Late into the night, as I fought off hunger and fatigue, I wanted to see what I could conjure up from my head. A little uninspired but I liked loosening up my lines. I've been struggling with legs for too long now.

It's like I plateaued when I was 16, all I need is to push.

The start is always the hardest part

This is kind of a big deal for me starting this blog. It represents a commitment that I've been putting off for ever, but now it has begun.

I got all excited by ashess' blog (http://ashess.blogspot.com/) and decided to finally put myself to task on this art thing. Anyways there's more to say but nothings coming... more art!

I found this little pen that allowed me to control the line width much better than with bics, which I'm so accustomed to using. I don't think I will ever go back if I can help it.

I started to notice that my drawings lack any depth so I went ahead and tried to find ways of defining it. As you can see I tried a number of different methods in one image (which probably violates some art tenet somewhere) just trying to experiment. These pictures where found flipping through http://www.fotosearch.com.

These hands of mine were an attempt to define shape/volume/depth with little lines. Mostly intuition was used but now I realize I need to find some direction and guidance to achieve a more realistic approach.

all drawings done with a sanford pen on printer paper :(
